Has anyone tried solving a 3D Bin packing problem in Flexsim?

Are there any other packing algorithms in flexsim than the 5 mentioned here. All of these packing methods consider one item at a time. I want it to consider all the items that need to be packed and provide an optimal position for each item.screenshot-2024-09-12-050203.jpg

@prajwal_gudadoor, this is a feature of other programs or apps. It is more an optimization of order, orientation and combinations of subsets.

@Joerg Vogel Thank you for the answer. I understand what you are saying but can't it be solved using the Optquest in Flexsim or should we use an external python code to do it?

@prajwal_gudadoor, you will depend on own code. If you find it more suited, you can use external code like python. You can try to implement it in C++ internally.

Optquest is not applicapable, because you need to call a new instance of FlexSim just to optimize an updated packaging.
