Error when trying to run instance on webserver (flexsim 2016 Update 1)

After installing FlexSim 16.1.1 webserver I'm able to start a new instance but when I select 'Connect To Instance' the following javascript error breaks the page:

'Uncaught ReferenceError: numscreenshots is not defined' (see screenshot below)

What does the error mean?

It seems that you've got an old version of the flexsimweb folder with outdated code. In the FlexSim manual under Miscellaneous Concepts > Webserver > Apache and IIS:

If you're using Apache, look at step 3, where it says:

Copy webserver.dll, index.html and the entire flexsimweb folder (not just its contents) from the FlexSim program directory to C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs or to wherever is specified as DocumentRoot in httpd.conf

If you're using IIS you'll need to redo the step that says:

  • Copy index.html and the entire flexsimweb folder (not just its contents) from the FlexSim program directory to C:\inetpub\wwwroot.

For either, double check and make sure you are copying from the FlexSim 16.1.2 program directory.
