Prioritize emergent patient type

1203.fsm

Hi, could anyone help me check if I have the two patient types set up correctly?

Type1 (50%): scheduled patients arrive according to the schedule table

Type2 (50%): emergent patients walk in randomly

I am also trying to prioritize the emergent patients. Once an emergent patient arrives, they get all the resources they need.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

You have a lot of freedom in how you define your patient arrivals. You will typically use one or more of the Token Creation activities in the PatientArrivals (or any other General) process flow and then pass the created token through one or more Create Patient activities.

In your case, I think you will want to use one Date Time Source and one Inter-Arrival Source, each connected to their own Create Patient activities. As for the 50/50 split, you will simply need to precalculate what the necessary interarrival time and scheduled quantities need to be in order to achieve the proper ratio of patients.
