create labels / Item types

Hi

As i'm on the 19.0.0 version i created flowracks using conveyors so now i need to route my products to make stock look like its corresponding to an ABC analysis

- Blue items are "A" class

- Red items are "B" class

- Aqua Items are "C" class

and please help me make my "flowracks" get full before transtockers start unloading items toward downstream objects

Hi @sameh ALAYET,

It sounds like you need to implement labels into your model. I will attach a link to the documentation on how to implement this.

As far as getting your flow racks full, you will have to be more specific on what "full" means. Should each conveyor have a certain number of items before they are released? Should each pallet spend a minimum amount of time in each conveyor? What is the logic behind where you send your items.

Additionally, I think that your model would benefit greatly from process flow. I will attach tutorials on that as well.

Hi @Benjamin W2 ,

thanks for your answer , specially your questions .

So here are the answers :

  1. Each conveyor should have 10 pallets as W.I.P. before releasing pallets to downstream ressources
  2. There is no specific time for each pallet to spend on conveyors before they are released
  3. the logic behind sending pallets to a specific entrytransfert is :
    • this is a simulation for a picking zone ( new project ) for a distribution center
    • we have 4 types of customers
Customer shipment
other warehouses full pallet ( of 72 tote or box + 15 box or tote )
=> 33 full pallet per semi truck
C.L.V Per unit ( tote or box)
C.H.R Per unit ( tote or box)
GMS Per unit ( tote or box)
  • after conducting analysis for all the orders ( "Pareto" - ABC analysis ) here is what we get
Product type Number of SKU's Color comments rotation
A Up to 20 Blue should be as close as its possible to customer high
B Up to 32 Red should be close to customer medium
C Up to 28 Aqua should be present in racks low

so the products will be sent in waves from flow racks to order picking areas :

15 pallets type A

10 palets type B

8 paalets type C

Hi @sameh ALAYET,

The first thing to do is to assign your pallets labels as they exit the combiner. For you blue combiner see the picture below:

Then, on all of your entry points for your conveyors, change the pull requirement to match the below image:

Finally, on your conveyors, add the following logic:

Note that you do not have enough room on your conveyors for 10 pallets. Each exit transfer that you refer to should be the exit transfer attached to your respective conveyor.
