Drag-Drop a 3d Library Object To Global Table

Hi ,

Accidentally we drag-dropped a 3d object to the global table. As a result, a new row is added and object node data is added to the cell value. Is there any specific purpose for this or is it a bug? In my opinion global table should not allow a node addition like this.

Hey @Arun Kr, I'm trying to replicate your issue. Could you please provide replication steps?

I've tried dragging a 3D object from the Library menu into a Global Table, but I get this prompt:

I've tried dragging an existing 3D object from the model view, but it never leaves the model view. How did you get to this state?

Drag & drop a 3D object in a blank space of the global table view, not inside a table cell.

I was able to replicate it, thank you Clair. I'll ask the dev group about it to see if this is intentional and, if so, what the purpose is. Thank you.

Hey @Arun Kr, we've reviewed this behavior and noted it with our dev team. This feature of dragging and dropping between views is prevalent throughout the software (such as dragging 3D objects into a tree view, or dragging keywords into custom GUIs). We will consider how to handle this interesting behavior in the future. For now, we recommend avoiding dragging 3D objects into Global Tables. Thank you for bringing this up to us!
