Experimenter and global variables?

I just did a set of scenarios where each one was for a different value of a global variable. However each of the runs appeared to use the original value of the variable, not the scenario value, so each run gave identical results. I changed the model to use a global table with one cell instead, and did get different results for each scenario, as expected.

Is this a bug, or is there a reason a global variable doesn't work with experimenter?

Thanks,

Craig

That's interesting. I just created a small example that uses a global variable, and it seemed to work for me. Do you have an example of the model? We could take a look at it and see what might be the issue?

@Sam Stubbs - Could you replicate the problem using my sample models?

Craig,

The problem was that your scenarios were referencing the global variable itself, as opposed to the data that it's set to. You should select the "Data" node under the global variable in the treenode. When I made the change the results from the experimenter were correct.

Adrian, were you able to make it work by doing that? I actually tried it both ways -typing the name and sampling it - and I did not see a difference. Thanks

I apologize, you need to select it in the options. It should look like:

MODEL:/Tools/GlobalVariables/vAverageDelay/Data
