Z-coordinate of conveyor messed up if trying to put on plane

Hi,

When I want to put a fixed resource on a plane to use the plane as a container, i.e. when I want to create a larger whole to add to a user library, I drag e.g. a processor from the library and drop it on the plane. I noticed that if I do the same for a conveyor the conveyor is dropped on the plane (seen in the tree), but the z-coordinate seems to be negative so the conveyor is not visible. It is therefore hard to know where the conveyor actually is on the plane. I can change the z-coordinate of the conveyor and it is on the plane where I dropped it but I do not see it until I change the z-coordinate so it is hard to put it in the correct position.

I can get around the problem by creating the conveyor in the model and then copy it into the plane. This works nicely. Is this solution what needs to be done currently or can it be done some other way?

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Axel

Axel,

I was not able to reproduce the z-coordinate issue you reported in V16.0, 16.1, and 16.2. I tried just to drag in a plane and drag a conveyor onto the plane. The z-coordinate the conveyors were placed at was 1 in all cases. Can you point me to how you got the negative z? What graphics card does your machine have?

Hi @Ralf,

I am using a a Quadro graphics card with the driver below. This is the one that FlexSim shows as Open GL driver at the startup screen of FlexSim.

Quadro K2100M/PCIe/SSE2, NVIDIA Corporation, 4.4.0

As Phil pointed out below dragging the conveyor onto the plane works as it should, but clicking the conveyor in the library and trying to create it by drag-and-drop on the plane (not drag-and-drop from the library) works fine.

Thank you!

Hi @Axel,

I can replicate the problem as well now. I wasn't aware you are using the click method. Just thought it might be a graphics problem, but obviously it is not.

Thanks

Ralf

I can replicate your issue with creating a conveyor on a plane having the incorrect z location. I'll add a note to the dev list to look into this.

As Ralf pointed out, if you drag the conveyor from the library into the plane, it gets the correct z location. So for now, you can drag-drop the conveyor onto a container instead of creating it with the clicking method.

Hi Phil,

Thank you! I will use this method for now then.
