[ FlexSim 17.2.5 ]

Hello.

I would like to know if it is possible to convert drawning backgrounds (DWG or DXF) into barriers and/or dividers.

Thank you.

Unfortunately there's not really a way to do this automatically. It would very difficult to have FlexSim parse through the dwg file and determine which lines/objects were supposed to be barriers or not. However, you can get the "snap points" of a dwg, and use those as the basis for drawing your barriers. You'd still have to do this either manually or write your own script that would loop through these points though.

My humble opinion is, that you do this as a post processing in the MCAD program. There you create a table that contains the dimensions and locations of the barriers. Then you adapt this table data as a txt data file or csv data file in Flexsim to create the barriers. It is a basic duty of the documenting a draft or a drawing. I don't think it is necessary to let Flexsim do pre-processing tasks that is based on intentions of users.
