New to Flexsim, need help to understand Basics

Hello,

I am currently working on a project to develop a warehouse model that would simulate different layouts, also with the help of which I would be able to differentiate the cases on basis of throughput, walking distance, waiting, etc. I have been trying out some small simulations but I really can't get it done.

The problem is that the model that I want to develop has to generate random receiving list and would be putaway into the specified rack locations, also once the putaway is done the system would update the inventory list after which another module will try to generate random orders or else I will be manually adding a list of orders that would be picked from the racks positions. Once picked I need those cases to be moved onto a sorter and then finally to the sink.

If someone is willing to share any simulation that fit into this criteria it would be helpful

@Abhishek Y, Can you attach some of your models, even if they won't work or run? We can decide at which level, we start to assist. But what you describe isn't anymore basic.

  • different layout
  • statistics of operator
  • fill racks at defined location
  • create random product lists for each available operator
  • optimize travel to the products
  • passing path conditions
  • sorting of items after fulfilling the order list

This proves to be a skeletal layout for my model and also this model has a module to generate orders, I am unable to understand how and where do you define them.

Worth mentioning since it is so fundamental - As you start using FlexSim, go through the Tutorials at the beginning of the User Manual. These will help you build a foundation upon which additional FlexSim experience can be built.

In FlexSim, go to Help > User Manual. There is an Introduction section, followed by several tutorials.
