Why would a model completely freeze up and become unaccessable to anyone trying to open it?

ed-ver-21update-evs.fsmCould you please help with a solution to opening it?

Thanks,

Jim

I can confirm that your attached model file will also not open on my computer using FlexSim HC 5.1.0.

It is highly likely that this copy of the model has become corrupted.

You can read up in detail regarding model corruption here.

The short version from the above link is that models can become corrupted in several ways, and unfortunately there is not a really good solution to model corruption, other than to open an older version of your model.

In the case of your model, it IS possible to do what was outlined in Mitigation, step 5 - ie load the model into a node in the tree. This will allow you to focus in on the problem by eliminating objects in the model, etc. I've been doing this now and will update if I find anything new. I mention it now so that you can start working on this as well, or revert to an older saved version.

Ben, Thank you! I went back and read your posted document on Model Corruption, and subsequently got my file back. I never knew that the .fsm! file was the previously saved version. It just so happens that whatever I introduced that corrupted the model was not present in the .fsm! version. Problem solved....for now. But I will keep your article handy.

Thanks,

Jim
