Crane Bridge Location

When resizing crane objects, the bridge position remains fixed and can end up floating in space for small crane systems. Calling a transport after starting the model can fix this, but it is visually strange if the model is not running. The bridge's spatialx and spatialx (under drawsurrogate) do not retain updates made in the tree. Is it possible to reposition the bridge over the beams without running the model? Sometimes people focus on visual issues like this and derail meaningful discussion during demonstrations.

Hi @adam.c,

Is it necessary to change the frame size of the crane during your presentation? If not, I'd just say it would make the most sense to run the crane and reset the bridge position before demonstrating the model.

If you do need to change the frame size mid-presentation, I suggest using the X and Y position which can be accessed in the Quick Properties window as shown. For a crane set up in the orientation shown, adjusting the X location moves the crane into a position that makes more sense visually without having to run the model.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Apparently I was overthinking this... Other edits (e.g., column size) had to be done in the tree and I assumed this was the case with the bridge as well.
