Position and Show Statistics like State Pies in 3D Model

Like the title says it would be really cool to position and show runtime-dynamic statistics like State Pies or Custom Charts in the 3D Model. I am using FlexSim with Oculus Rift and to see some dynamic statistics in the sky would be awesome!

Robin,

up until FlexSim V6.02. FlexSim had a recorder object included with the standard library for exactly that purpose....showing graphs in 3D in model space. It has been taken out for slow performance and unflexibility with V7 when the dashboards were proclaimed our standard for showing graphs.

You can either build your own 3D graphs using the "draw..." commands or OpenGL (if you are so inclined). I attached a model built in 6.02 and saved for 17.0.2, where you can see (and hijack?) the State Pie (when the model is running).

Good luck

Ralf

Hello Ralf, I had the same idea and posted my approach at the original question. The hijack method works only to get the Recorder object into Flexsim 17. But that isn't necessary, because the Recorder is still in the library. If I had copied the data structure from Flexsim 5 to Flexsim17, too, and reset the model, the Processor I wanted to show its statistics simply disappeared. All what was left in the tree was "0x0". Your file contains a Processor of Flexsim 6.02. A Processor inserted into a project in Flexsim 17 has got a different statistic data structure. To use the old Recorder and a new Processor the stats node must match the object structure of the old Processor to work in the new Flexsim Version. Maybe some event nodes must match, too.
