How to add an object as a New Basic FlowItem

I have downloaded a few files with the extention .skp in my computer and am trying to add them as images or 3D objects (bottles instead of boxes, for instance). but the computer seems to not to recognize the file, as it can not be loaded to the FlexSim flowitems library. Must I have downloaded also the SketchUp software in my computer so that I can see the objects? I have tried the free version, but it looks like it is only a sort of online usage of the software and a limited one with no save file options. Can somebody give some advice on this topic? I will really appreciate it.

Regards

Sketchup files can be hit or miss when importing them into FlexSim, see if you can download it as a Collada, .dea, file. Then to import it into flexsim as a new flow item, click the green plus to add a new flow item, then duoble click the box that is then created. Then browse for your file.
