Can this site tell you when new posts have been created?

The old forum had an area that said something along the lines of "New since your last visit" which gave a list of the posts that had new activity since you last opened the forum.

It would be great if answers.flexsim.com could have something similar.

In addition to email notifications (thanks @Jörg Vogel), the Answers homepage itself serves as a "what are the latest updates" board, sorted by the most recent updates at the top, with the update time indicated:

What it's missing that you requested is some marker, a line across the list of posts, where anything added/updated since your last visit is above the line.

While this feature is lacking (and if we could put one in we'd just do it - ever seen one @Paul Toone?), you can just start at the top and browse down until you recognize posts that haven't changed since you last saw them.

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but it's pretty close...

Unfortunately, there is no functionality that shows exactly what is new since your last login. The two tools that you have from the home page are the sorting options; specifically the 'Updated' and 'Created' filter.

These filters should help in sorting your homepage in a way that could help you see what has happened since your last login.

@Cameron Pluim You are not looking for the email notification settings in Profile > Edit Email notification settings? There you are able to set the time and the amount of notifications on new questions, answers, comments and other changes at this site. The amount of changes is at answers.flexsim.com much larger than at the previous community site. Typically there are about 8 new entries in an period of 8 to 10 hours. Only on Saturdays the rate is lower.
