The idea is include more extension options to Excel Interface for import and export data, in order to solve the problem for excel free users, like LibreOffice and OpenOffice (*.ods). This is a real situation that occured at Universities at Brazil.

I think that both LibreOffice and OpenOffice are able to read and produce Microsoft Excel files. Maybe that can provide an indirect solution for the time being.
We tried to import but if you only have the LibreOffice installed in your machine the Excel Interface not work.
