Make Time Tables easier to use in FlexSim GP 2019

Hi @jordan.johnson,

since FlexSim 2019 the Time Tables daily and weekly repeat (graphical) seems to have been changed to make it possible to set more precise events.

Sadly after trying it out it looks like a step back, because it is quite hard to add events by clicking into a row.

Even if I´m very close to the time I want to set, I can click in the field below to change values but have to click out of the window after setting a number and sometimes values change or events disappear.

It´s also a nice idea to make events repeatable. Did not try out what happens if I set 10 repeats to a weekly table with only 7 days. Was wondering why I have this option, but I assume you have a solution for this!?

Earlier that day I had a problem with my model because the weekly table was not used in the second week. But I can´t reproduce it now.

It seems to be a nice idea to have a data based table and have the choice to set the events more precise or give different states to different events within one view.

But is it possible to get the legacy Daily and Weekly Repeat Mode back in any option?

I know there have been several bugs reported for the time table, which sound similar to some of your comments. @Jacob Gillespie would know more about this particular feature than I do.

As you have noticed, we changed the Daily Repeat and Weekly Repeat modes to use the same graphical view as the DateBased mode. Unfortunately it does have some issues.

I am currently working on making this view much more robust and user friendly. Your feedback will help a lot. Hopefully we will have these issues fixed by the next bug-fix release.

For now keep these things in mind:

  • In daily mode only change the Start time and End time. (We will gray out the Start date and End date)
  • In Weekly Repeat do not change the Start date or End date past 7 Jan 1601. (We will replace the calendar box with a combobox containing the days of the week)
  • Editing the start time does not preserve the event's durration. This may explain the disappearing events because you move the Start of the event past the End. (We will change the Start to preserve the event duration)
  • After creating an event, click off of it and re-select it. Newly created events are not being selected properly. (We will fix this)
