Pathmind AI Engine

Hi,

this website has been brought to my attention by a client a little time ago:

https://pathmind.com/

At that time, they were only linking to AnyLogic. According to the Vendor Workshop schedule at this year´s WinterSim, Simio is an option now as well:

http://meetings2.informs.org/wordpress/wsc2020/vendor-workshops/

Can you elaborate about if and how FlexSim is planning to tackle that subject?

Thanks an best wishes

I think it will a good way to include AI feature like pathmind in the AGV control System of FlexSim AGV module. The current AGV module of FlexSIm 21 edition is excellent comparing to other competitors but it is some more needed to the most flexsim users to customize for developing ACS (AGV COntrol System). AGV PF instances in current FlexSim has a capability to include a AI engine like pathmind, I think.

It should be needed for searching the optimized route of the AGVs of the complex network path cases.

I also want to know like Ralf about that subject planning of developing team.

Thanks.

We are working hard to be able to better integrate FlexSim with external solutions like PathMind. Some of the initiatives we are working on right now are moving toward that goal.
  • We have moved things like performance measures and model parameters out of the experimenter/optimizer to being a general model tool in the toolbox. This is one small piece in our path towards making parameterizing a model, and retrieving performance indicators from a model, more tool-agnostic. The end goal is to allow tools like PathMind to control this parameterization and result gathering, not just the experimenter and optimizer.
  • We are actively working on making FlexSim a multi-platform product, starting with a command-line-controlled Linux version of FlexSim. This will make FlexSim more easily deployable to cloud-based technologies like PathMind that often prefer linux-based server solutions.
  • We are researching, and soon hope to integrate machine learning tools like PathMind, Microsoft Bonsai, Google's TensorFlow, etc., for use with FlexSim.

Admittedly, AnyLogic (and I guess now Simio) are a little ahead of us on this, but we hope to catch up soon.

Because of the interesting features of Pathmind we are looking for a way to link our existing FlexSim models to it. Are there any new information when it'll be possible to work with them in combination?

We have met with Pathmind executives and developers to discuss FlexSim integration. They are willing to integrate their software with FlexSim with our help when they have a client that wants to work with them using FlexSim. If you are interested in working with them on a project, contact them to discuss, and we can work with them to integrate and license FlexSim with their software solution as part of the project.
