The repeated error of FlexSim exiting DURING 'Initializing FlexSim...'

Almost engineers of my customers 'Samsung Electro-Mechanics' have some strange issue of NOT normal starting FlexSim from about 10 days ago. The issue have happened not in ONE engineer but almost engineers.

So they can't use FlexSim anymore. Why is it happened?

We want to know the reason of it and the shooting method about it.

The detail status is "FlexSim exiting without any error messages during 'Initializing FlexSim...' when starting FlexSim.

I guided the post of https://answers.flexsim.com/content/kbentry/20977/flexsim-installation-or-startup-error.html, but they could not solve their problem through this posting.

They re-installed FlexSim but the issue can't be fixed.

And after 'delete FlexSim's saved settings' of #5 method of the posting, the issue can't be fixed also.

The issue is same 21.1.4 and 21 update 2 beta and the older version is same.

I want to know 'what does make FlexSim exiting during "Initializing FlexSim...".

Can I track the reason using 'Windows Event Viewer" method of #10 in posting of it?

Their windows has been updated and the graphic card driver also updated to new one.

Graphic chip information is NVidia Geforce RTX 2080 SUPER and driver is 30.0.14.7111.

We had a similar error, as we installed a different software program that updated open OPC Server components. I asked how to install FlexSim without OPC feature then.

Thank you for your experiences. I will check the same or similar issue in my customer.

I also checked my customer if an application installed in his PC around then, so he checked if installed or updated then. But any thing could not found, he said.

But I will check it again anyway.

And another reason will be there? I need anyone's help or experiences.

If you install FlexSim via the msi file instead of the exe, then it will only install FlexSim, not the OPC redistributables.

Previously, we also encountered such a problem. In the V2021.0 version, the Flexsim software installed on our computer often flashed back. Later, we found that the system still lacked the VC environment and needed to install VC + + 2015-2019. Then the problem was solved.You can try it.vc-2015-2019.png

@Wang Yang Thank you for your experience. I checked it to my customers.

But some has installed the VC++2015~2019 redistributable and others have already them.

And if they try to run five times, one is success. About 20% is OK.

They feel a lot of inconvenience.

@Jeanette F Thank you for your interest. This issue has not been solved fully yet.

The error is happening around 80%. If you try five times, you'll succeed once.

They feel a lot of inconvenience. Not only is it inconvenience, it also affects FlexSim's reliability. There's nothing I can do on my own.

This issue has been solved. The problem was a collision between the windows update and the company's security check application.

This problem was solved by his debug.

Do they have some software on their system that is trying to debug the FlexSim process? FlexSim will crash at that point as an anti-piracy measure if a debugger is attached to the process.

They are using network licenses of four seats in windows 10 PC server, does it have a thing about it?

You can see in server webpage record whether to have more than that visit of accredit amount, if have 4 seat number only, when the 5th when obtaining seat number also can appear to flash back.

They have the license server in their office NOT flexsim server and are using LMTOOLS. LMTOOLS is not using web page record. And when the fifth user login, 'deny' message will appear. They have two OptQuest network license and the third user of it, he meets 'deny' message.


They and I think it is not license issue, maybe.

Their PCs in the office, because of their severe security application, any not permitted application can not installed. Only windows update is permitted, I know and in this case, the manager checked if any application or program was installed.


Any thing makes their FlexSim start or not and the succeed ratio is about one of five.
