Experimentation of RFID based Conveyor sorting system

hi

i want to simulate the effect of materials, tag location on pallet boxes,conveyor speed to identify the read redundancy of RFID based cargo sorting system. is it possible to achieve this task?

if yes please tell me how i will forever be indebted!!

Hello @Dragon E,

FlexSim is capable of simulating many scenarios especially for warehouse, material handling, and production lines. Could you provide more details about what you are trying to accomplish? Have you made any attempts at creating a model or starting the logic for one?

Our conveyor library paired with process flow would be necessary to achieve what you are looking for. For instance, the arrival of a pallet at a decision point could then trigger complex decision in the process flow. Moving the decision point on the conveyor or changing whether the leading, trailing edge or center of an object fires a trigger could help with some of the label placement logic.

thank you for your response.

my project idea is to study the effect of materials(metal,water,documents), tag position(front,top side of box), conveyor speed on RFID tag which affects its tag readability. this is a RFID based conveyor sorting system which is to be used in cargo companies. antenna scan tags and processed to activate a pusher, to divert product to another conveyor. i am planning to run a experiment to identify the effect of this above stated factors on the system which affects its throughput.

Do you want to model failed reads statistically and see the impact on flow - this is possible if you have the supporting data that correlates location, materials and speed with percentage read failure.


Modelling the RF attenuation through materials and around objects is not supported but you could add your own RF model.

i have the statistical data for factor levels.

materials(Documents,metal and fluid) the RFID read percentage are 78%,15%,25%

for tag position (top,front,left) the read percentage are (79%,92%,47%)

similaly for conveyor(0.5m/s,1m/s, 2m/s) i have 3 percentage values.

now i want to conduct 3*3*3=27 experiments with permutations/arrangements of this factors levels. for example( Document-top-0.5m/s)

i want the throughput as output(performance metrics)

i want to replicate this 3 times. so can you tell how to achieve this task ?

will label work?
