What do you mean by 'advance the combiner'?

The combiner will always wait until it receives an item through its first input port. It will then collect items from the remaining ports according to its component list. When all necessary items have been received, the setup and process times pass before the combined items are released.

Which part of this logic do you want to change?

If it's just a visual fix then use a Container Flow Item for the mould and then the packing method determines how they are displayed:
