Periodic Setup Time

The processor should stop every 4 hours and the time for setup is an empirical distribution. I tried looking into periodic rates but could not figure it out, please explain in detail if possible.

This is not a setting for a Setup Time. It is more a MTBF/MTTR tool task!

You can assign states that are counted for Mean Time before Failure. You can select processing and if you like setup.

First Failure Time and Up Time are your processsing time of 4 hours.

Down Time is your empirical distribution.

Change down state to "setup".

You can think if the MTBF/MTTR tools as "Unplanned Losses", and the Timetable tool as "Planned Losses".

If you know the time of day for the event is prescheduled then use the timetable. If is based on the amount of time in a state then use the MTBF/MTTR.
