How to store items on floor storage depending on 4 labels?

Hello,

I assign 4 different labels to each item before I want to order them in a floor storage. I want every level to contain the same type of item (all 4 labels matching). So far I tried with various custom codes (none of which got to the result) and a variation of process flows. I don´t think, that this is a complex problem but maybe I am overseeing something.

Bays in the storage are "painted" in the desired labels. The main error, which is always occuring is: no slot was assigned to item.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Before moving an item to a slot in a floor storage or any kind of rack, you need to use a "Find Slot" activity (you can find it on the Warehousing tab of the object library) to find a slot based on the conditions you define on the "Query" field. You can use the predefined options available on the dropdown menu to help you write that query and make sure you're getting the slot you want.

This activity includes an "Assign Slot to Item" field, which, as the name already states, assigns the slot obtained to an item of your choosing. This step is what you're missing and why you're getting such error.

I hope it helps!

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, much appreciated!

I have acctually tried this before with the help of a youtube tutorial. It works fine for just one label (including the steps you mentioned). My challenge is to sort the items according to 4 labels. The slots in the floor storage are assigned to all possible combinations of lables, so that there is for each item (at least from my understanding) an overlap between the label configuration on the item and at least one slot. I´m missing a logic in the query field to queue the 4 conditional querys.

Could you please upload your model (or at least a dummy version of it) and write down how the assignment must work based on that 4 labels you mention? It is very difficult to understand and provide an answer based on that general explanation.

I have created a simplified model which only handles 2 labels. I hope the general procedure is the same as for 4 Labels
