I have a 4:1 merge of conveyors. Each infeed conveyor will make a fixed slug length that is different from the other. When the merge control releases a slug, all the cases that were in que are released which is sometimes more than the desired slug quantity. Can I use the DP to correct this behavior?
We answered this question on the phone. But for the community's sake I thought I would post the answer we came up with. Essentially to limit your slug size to be the exact specified size you're looking for, you're going to limit the slug building area to only allow up to the amount you want in your slug. To create a restriction on an area on a conveyor, simply create two DPs, with the upstream one being the entrance to the area, and the downstream is the exit. In the upstream DP's OnArrival trigger, you will select Area Restriction, and the amount of content you want maximum in that area. Then in the downstream one, you can specify Exit Area in the OnContinue trigger.
