Is there a way to access and/or change the algorithm behind optquest?

I want to know if there is a way to access and change or edit the algorithm behind optquest.

FlexSim 17.2.2

@Cindy Azuero,The short answer is that no, there isn't a way to modify what OptQuest does.

If you are looking for ways to reduce the amount of time OptQuest takes to find a good solution, try the following:

  • Make sure to supply OptQuest with good "start" searches. If you define experiment scenarios, you can use those as initial solutions for OptQuest. That way, instead of a blind guess, OptQuest can use your scenarios to start its search.
  • Reduce the number of variables. Every variable multiplies the number of possible solutions. Even removing a single binary variable will reduce the search space by half, making it twice as likely to find a good solution. Removing other variables will have an even better effect.

If you wanna work with different algorithm to run optimization with simulation using FlexSim, you can also works with DLLs and put FlexSim to work with Scilab, Matlab, Lindo, Cplex, Lingo or whatever other tools that best work for you.
