How to calculate the Utilization in Process flow using Staytime Collector?

@jordan.johnson

Hi,

I have used process flow to construct a factory working model. In which I have used acquire resource activity to acquire the resource(machine) in the Process flow model.

In my model when the token hires a resource in process flow the token undergoes different breakdown stages such as( Quality issue, Equipment issue, changeover issue and processing state) and spend time on it.

Using Staytime Collector I manage to collect the time spend by the token on each activity( Quality issue, Equipment issue, changeover issue and processing state) but I am facing a problem how to consolidate all the collect time to frame as a utilization chart that shows the utilization separately for each Acquired resource by the token.

For example (The token has spent "X"% in quality issue, "X"% in Equipment issue, "X"% in Changeover and "X" % in Processing )

I have attached the model for your reference have a look on it. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hi @gilbert jerald,

One workaround, I think will be to use a dummy 3d processor . Change the state of the 3d processor before and after the delay activities, which you are trying to capture. Then display the utilization statistics of the processor using a table chart or a bar chart. The statistics will be same as that of the 2d resource. In this way, modelling will be much simpler.

See the simple model.

@Arun KR

Thanks for your answer. Your answer is quite fine, but I want to know is there any way to calculate the utilization chart from process flow without incorporating a dummy 3d processor.

Thank you.

Hello @Arun Kr,

I am currently attempting to view the utilization statistics of my operators after building a process flow model. I have 2 questions if you could help me out:

1- Can I view these utilization statistics without having to build a dummy 3d processor?

2- If yes, how? If not, can you provide me with an updated link for the "simple model" you attached to your comment, as the current one does not work.

Thanks in advance !

Best,

Samer
