Grabbing license from network: strange issue

Hi

I have encountered a strange problem in grabbing license from network server. I have installed the license and LM on my desktop. I can't grab the license from the desktop but I can grab it from other desktop. I have tried off the anti-virus, firewall and others. But I still cannot get it working.

My service is confirmed running. Anyone has any chance that come across similar problem? Any suggestion?

Thank

David

Hi @david.chan,

Have you tried explicitly setting the port number in the license server address:

[email protected]

Have you tried using either 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' for the server address?

Have you tried using a license file instead of through Help>License Activation, as described in the section Licensing a multi-user client PC of the installation instructions (page 24).

@Ben Wilson

Thanks for your advise. I have tried all you suggested. But fail...

By the way, I am using Win7. Do I need to run the older LANLicense ?

@david.chan,

Running the older version won't help. It is already working correctly, as evidenced by properly licensing a separate computer.

The problem must be in the communication between your local FlexSim installation and the local license server installation.

Have you tried disabling firewalls and antivirus? Can you telnet to the proper ports from the computer itself? Have you tried all the other troubleshooting suggestions?
