I take the same model above you build and I tried to elevate the produced items to the groundfloor. If there is an item in one of the upper queues the elevator goes there put the items (depending on the maxcontent from the elevator, if there is enough space the elevator goes to the next level down where a item is and take it) and bring it to the groundfloor. If there are items on the groundfloorqueue the elevator take there and bring it to the aim.

I have problems with the maxcontent form the elevator and with the unloading form the last item!

Sorry, but I´m not able to do this in the right way. I need help please. Thanks a lot ! see my "LAST" model

What are the rules that govern the elevator?

Say the elevator has to deliver an item to both floor 2 and 3. If floor 2 has an item that needs to be brought to the ground floor, should the elevator pick it up before moving to floor 3?

Say the elevator delivers two items to floor 2 and there are two items on floor 3 that need to be brought to the ground floor. Does the elevator move up to floor 3 to grab those items before moving back down?

Thank you Matthew for taking my problem! Yes the two rules you are described are possible and stand for the most elevatorlogic, in my opinion.

An other question Metthew. In my real model I have 2 elevators with five levels. I think it will not be a problem for me to extend the logic for one elevator and afterwords I will copy the hole logic for the second elevator. To consider that I'm thinking in the right way?

I've updated my original model so that the elevator will pick up items that are done processing and bring them back down to the ground floor. I moved the Process Flow activities into an instanced flow so that you can attach as many elevators to this flow as you want. You'll notice in this model I have the instanced flow attached to 2 elevators that both carry out the same logic.

Thank you very much!!!

I never came up to such a solution. Until now in useing Prosses Flow I have not the right way of thinking. Is there a better way to learn Prosses Flow as learning by doing? For me I miss a rudimental "line of action" in building models with Prosses Flow :(

Yeah, building models is the best way to learn it.

The tutorials in the user manual show useful concepts and you can find a lot of example models built by FlexSim employees and other users on this site.

Also, feel free to keep posting models and questions here on Answers.
