HC Changing random number stream obtains the same set of numbers

I'm using the free version and I understand that the experiment function is locked. However, I believe I should be able to manually change the random number stream in the distribution chooser and obtain different sets of process times for a specified distribution. But it seems that even though I edit the number stream (any number between 0 and 100), there is no change in the process times. Is this also a limitation of the free trial version? Is there any way for me to generate different sets of numbers from the distribution? Thank you.

The random number generator is purposefully fixed with the free version.

If you want statistically valid results, you need to have a license.

Contact your local distributor to purchase a license or request a timed license for evaluation purposes.

Thanks for the reply. Since the random number stream in the distribution chooser wasn't blanked out (i.e. I can edit it), I thought it would be possible to obtain statistically valid results by manually changing it before each run.

I have kind of found a way around it by using a separate software to generate different sets of number. Then, I use global table lookup instead of distribution chooser to obtain process times. This definitely requires a lot more effort though.

Yes, that is why you should buy a license ;-)
