problem with generating faulty products

I wanted to know if anyone knows how to solve the following problem. I have 3 queue pallets in which 50 pieces are generated in each of them. I need only on average 3% of the 150 pieces go into the defective product area. maybe using a normal distribution. Thank you!

@Michael calabrook

Bernoulli Distribution is more suitable I think. I have reattached the model with the changes. I have added the label called "Defective" to the created items and assign the value based on the Bernoulli distribution. Please let me know if this works for you.

Thanks.

ok it works. only I did not understand why you put the value 94 as a probability of success in bernoulli. The value to be included in the bernoulli distribution should not have been 97. in order to consider only 3 as a failure value (defective). thank you.

If you want 3 product out of 50 as a defective, you can use 94 percent as a success percentage. I am just converting the fraction value into a percentage.

Fraction = 3/50 =.06*100 = 6% is failure, so 94% is the success rate.

Based on this I have used 94% as the success probability.

ok. perfect! I, on the other hand, reported that 3% must be a failure, while 97% must be a success.

how come if you want 3 products out of 144 as defective, using 97.92% as a percentage of success, come out 5 defective products? fraction = 3/144 = 0.0208 * 100 = 2.08% is a failure, so 97.92% is the success rate. by entering this value, 5 defective products come out instead of 3. @Michael calabrook. This is called statistic, otherwise it would have been called deterministic ;-).

If you get the same outcome everytime, it is due to the fact that the "Repeat Random Streams" is on. If you use the express or demo version it is always on. If you use a student or commercial license you can switch it off under the Statistics menu. If I run the model a few times I get a different outcome everytime varying between 0 and 6 (but could be even higher)

Just the fact that the same result came out and the thing that I could not understand. I think it's due to the speech that I use an express license. in this case, the statistics menu should resolve. thank you.
