Hi @sebastian.hemmann,

This article is a generic guide to running experiments/optimizations on any cloud service, or any set of available local computers. It links to @jordan.johnson's article specifically for Amazon, for the specific part about how to set up the Amazon systems. All the same principles from the generic guide would apply for Azure or any other cloud service. Only the actual steps in provisioning and configuring the systems on individual services would be different.

If you end up provisioning systems and configuring them for FlexSim on Azure, it would be awesome if you could document your steps to include in a companion article, that we could link to similarly to how the generic article links to Jordan's Amazon article.

Seems like we also had somebody putting together a guide for how to provision and configure on Google's cloud. Any news on that, Jordan?

I haven't heard anything from the person who wanted to put the google guide together, since they first inquired.

When you say "run on Microsoft Azure", I'm assuming you want to use the cloud for experiments or optimization. If so, then I don't foresee any problems. I imagine it should work as well as Amazon. But I don't know of anyone that has actually done it, so I can't say for certain.

If you are hoping to use Azure as a way to make FlexSim available to someone remotely, that seems less likely to work well. Remote viewers seem to struggle with 3D graphics in general. Also, there may be issues with licensing, due to how those services treat hardware. Replication runs don't require 3D or a license, so these problems do not affect experiments or optimizations.
