Is there a way to have the patient come in with a visitor in my model?

Hello, I have attached my model and I have a few questions. We are trying to understand the Waiting Room Capacity of the clinic. By the CDC seats will have to be reduced (6 ft apart), and we suspect the Waiting Room will be a constraint. Having said that, I have a few questions:

1. Is there a way to have a Dashboard/visual set to count the remaining seats available in the Waiting Area throughout the day? Waiting_Room_Sample2_autosave.fsm

2. Is there a way to set the model and have the patient always come with a visitor?

3. We have 2 types of patients, NP(New Patient) and EP (Existing Patient). The appt duration is different for each type of patient (1 hour for NP, and 30 min for EP). Also, NP has to be in the clinic 30 min prior to appt, and EP 15 min prior to appt time. How can I address these differences per patient? How can I keep them separate in the flow chart, as well as labeling them?

Perhaps you can ask three separate questions. It is more likely that users can answer one question than all three together at once, don’t you think, too?

Hi @Jaidit J,

1) Yes. Double click on your dashboard and under the "Location Templates" select "Census vs. Time". In the chart's properties, click subsets and configure it like so:

2) Check out the following link:

https://answers.flexsim.com/questions/73076/companion-modeling-for-waiting-area.html

3) First, assign a type to the paitient. I would keep it numeric to make coding easier.

Then, add a global table, where each PatientType is a column, and each wait time is a row:

Now, wherever you want the process times to be different, use the Global Table lookup feature, referencing your PatientType label:

To get each token type to be a different color, select "More Properties" on the Quick Properties window:

Then, in the "Visualization Tab", underneath "Token Colors", set the Label as PatientType:

I hope this helps!
