One conveyor feeding two: strange sideways movements at transfer

Yet another weird problem at transfers! Here I have one upstream conveyor feeding two down stream depending on the y-position of the package. The logic works fine but there are these weird back and forth sideways moves as the package transfers.

Any ideas?

what we see is a standard action. An item is entering a conveyor centered. Smooth transition over time or distance correlates location of previous to following conveyor. But in the middle of this action items are centered in relation to the transfer object. In such a scenario I would switch of smooth transition and prepare items in exiting conveyor by translation to locate correct in relation to entering conveyor. Entering conveyor places items in no time directly to there final location. Items are jumping to there location. Because they are leaving previously correct translated, the transition will look correct in higher run speeds.

I was able to get a smooth transition by including two extra-short conveyors that were tilted just slightly (0.1 in x-direction) towards the incoming conveyor.
