Changes made in Animations and Components do not remain

Hi,

I have been having problems with object's visuals. All the changes that I make to an object's sub-components disappear when I go back to the 3D model view. I saved the base positions but that did not seem to be helpful. if then I go back to the Animations view and I reset, then the components go back when I wanted them to be, but as soon as I go back to the model the position and size of these are wrong.

Do you have an idea of what am I doing wrong? Is there some documentation about this besides a few paragraphs on Managing components ans save base positions that not help me with my problem?

Thanks

To update a keyframe, change the object's location/size/rotation, then right-click on the keyframe and select Update Keyframe. This will update the keyframe data to reflect the object's current location/size/rotation.

I see that what you suggested is related to animations. I don't have any animations. It is just the components' position I need to change.

If I had to rephrase my problem, why the position I set as Base Positions in the Animations and Components window do not stay when I press the reset button while being in the 3D model view?

It would be easier to explain what is happening if you posted an example model demonstrating the problem you are having instead of just describing it with text.

The problem is likely not a general problem with Animations and Components, but rather that you are specifically trying to change a particular library object that has class object code that sets the sizes and positions of its own components in order to do that particular object's behavior. For example, each of the Task Executer classes that are composed of various components, such as the Crane and the ASRS vehicle, will set the size and position of each of their components themselves as part of their internal behavior.

If you are trying to fight against the object's internal behavior, then you are going to have troubles. It is hard to tell what exactly you are doing though, because your question lacks details about what objects you are trying to change. If you add more detail about what you are trying to accomplish, then maybe people can better explain how to accomplish that.
