whether best iteration and feasible should be with different points ?

whatsapp-image-2024-09-28-at-103637.jpegI have simulated a bread production system. there are 3 products made, namely bread A, B and C. I want to find the optimal production lot size to produce maximum output. but the results of optquest show the best iteration and feasible iteration with the same value as in the following figure. Is this normal, or maybe there is an error at a certain point?

As additional information: as parameters in this model are the production lot size of each type of bread, and the oven lot size.

An Optimizer is just a tool to variate input values to finish an experiment in given boundaries of an expected result. If you seek to find an optimized lot size you must have input values that have an effect on your conditions. Typically a lot change correlates with a setup time.

Additionally you can have a fixed number of lots produced. Your goal would be to minimize total production time. And your input varies the order of lots. Now you could split your lots in sub units additionally.

In the past we undertook a similar experiment which evaluated lot sizes in relation to costs of storage. Is it better to produce large lot sizes and increase the cost of storage or is it better to have a smaller storage capacity available and change more often product types.

thanks for the answer, if the optquest result is as shown in the figure, is it reasonable? because the best iteration has the same value as the feasible iteration.

@handi dharmawan, how should I know that without any knowledge of input, output, measurements, conditions and distribution logic? My first guess is that there is not any variation at all. Let me assume you have a data set which consists of setup time and process time. And even if there wouldn’t be a needed setup your model does this setup. In such a case you get a static total process time.

A personal hint: I commented on your question. It is a comment and not an answer. It is a discussion about your question.

You are trying to set the MaxContent of Combiners but the combiner logic does not use this property - you can't change its capacity like a processor - so all your trials are identical.

Instead you could try using the parameter onSet to create duplicates of the combiner - including connections - keep in mind how this might affect the port logic of the other connected objects.
