"No_connection" option for a path between two network nodes

Hello.

I have a problem with network nodes.

I have built a simple simulation model as shown below,

where 5 network nodes are included. (Model file is attached.)

The flowitems are transferred from Processor to Sink by TaskExecuter2,

and there are 2 paths between "center network node" and Sink.

The upper path visits "right network node" and the lower path visits "lower network node".

In upper path, "no connection" option is applied to the arrow indicating move from

"right network node" from "center network node".

Hence, I expected that TaskExecuter2 uses upper path when it transfers a flowitem from

Processor to Sink, while it uses lower path when it return to Processor object in order to

pick up next flowitem.

After starting this model, I encountered two problems:

(1) TaskExecuter2 uses upper path for returning to Processor object several times, which is prohibited by "no connection" option.

(2) After a few transfer, TaskExecuter2 stops at "right network node" in returning, even though there is an alternative path (lower path through "lower network node").

Could you tell me what causes these problems and how to resolve them?

Thank you.

I would suspect there is a bug in FlexSim 7 that is causing this behavior. I've opened this model in FlexSim 2016, 2017 and 2018 and they all seem to behave correctly.

FlexSim 7 was released back in 2013. Since then there have been 13 major releases of FlexSim that have added major improvements and bug fixes to the software. I would recommend updating your model to FlexSim 2018 or 2018 Update 1. This should solve your problem.

Thanks, Matt.

I also have FlexSim 2017 version, and I could run the initial model based on FlexSim 7 correctly by using FlexSim 2017.

Then, I decided to build a new model with same components by using FlexSim 2017, and I encountered same problems, again.

Is there any one who could resolve those problems?

This model seems to run just fine and if I create the model from scratch I'm also not seeing any issues.

You may want to call in to our office and have a web meeting with one of our tech support experts. You would then be able to share your screen with them and show them your your model running.

Thanks, Matt.

I found that when I open FlexSim (FlexSim7 and FlexSim2017), and build and run the model, it does not work correctly.

However, the model works correctly when I close FlexSim and re-open the model.

On the contrary, I found no problems in FlexSim 2017 update 1.

I still don't know why, but I manage to use the model.

Thank you again.
