How to simulate a Mobile Rack ?

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to simulate an Operator picking goods from different Aisles out of the Mobil Rack.

I attached a Video link from YouTube where some guys already simulated it in flexsim but there is no further information how they did it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCc8XgPqBiw

Thank you for Your help and suggestions

Hi Jonathan,

Here is the model for the mobile rack (FlexSim 19.0.0)mobile-rack.fsm. I have used kinematics for the rack movement. Let me know if it is line with your requirements.

Regards

I have made something similar simply by placing the racks inside a Basic Task Executer and then giving it the travel relative tasks. I considered the kinematics option, but it seems overly complicated for something that can be controlled much more simply from processflow using Travel Activities and a BasicTE. See the attached model movingracks.fsm

Keep in mind that the BasicTE's dont work out of the box… Dont ask me why. But you have to pull in another task executer to get a DefaultNavigator added to your model, and then set them up as follows:

Hi @martin.jensen

I am trying to recreate the model, but how you got to place the racks on BasicTE, because when I am trying, The BasicTE is moving, and racks were not moving.

pre-Warehouse-racks were placed inside a taskexecuter by moveobject command.

Edit:

  • Place a Taskexecuter object in your 3D model view workspace.
  • Drag a Rack object over Taskexecuter object.
  • Apply Unusual Container window.

I would think Joerg has already shown how to put racks inside the TE, but to clearify you can use the Object tree to view the object structures and see if the Rack is in fact under the TE. You can also use the "Move into Highlighed" feature to move a Rack in your model into the TE. You can find it in the "Edit Selected Objects" toolbos under "View".
