Sugarcane harvesting Flexsim Model

Hello everyone! I have a project to determine a suitable number of trucks and reduce waiting for sugarcane mechanical harvester by using Flexsim simulation model.

I want a sample of processing in one area. In case I have an area of sugarcane, one sugarcane harvester, four small trailer trucks and two trucks. In procession, the sugarcane harvester harvests sugarcane followed by trailer truck. When trailer truck has full load it has to travel to a truck, then throw it. The truck brings sugarcane to factory and have to wait queue for around 4 hours. While first trailer sending sugarcane to truck, the second truck enters to follow harvester instead, and it works like this for cycle.

Note: If has no trailer truck following the Sugarcane harvester, the harvester does not work. In the project I have to adjust number of trailer truck and truck to get the highest efficiency for an estimated area. I would like to get any concept and suggestion how to make the process both 3D standard and 2D process flow.

With Respect!

I have already developed a model to do grain harvesting. Let me know if you would like to connect and discuss further.

@Horn H I have developed a model to do grain harvesting and would love to connect to hear more about what you are doing with sugarcane.

I am Fourth years student in major of Industrial Engineering .My project is about " The application of simulation models to determine a suitable number of truck and reduce waiting time for sugarcane mechanical harvesters " .I apply Flexsim to solve the problem.I am pleased to connect and get suggestion, concept of creating model from you. Thanks You!

@Horn H, please think about to build a model that doesn't behave or show an animation of the process that you describe really realistic. But the model does the processes. For example if the sugarcane harvester is a combiner and the factory is a processor you can harvest the sugar plants while a taskexecuter assist in combining. Pallets are your trailers. Then if the amount of 4 combined products on 4 available pallets are ready to send the taskexecuter will travel the products to the truck and transfer the products- only the products on the pallets. You can use a separator to do that. The truck travels to the factory.

You won't see a moving sugarcane harvester but you build a model where you get results faster instead of imitating the reality precisely. You can vary the amount of available pallets, you can set interarrival time of the products to define the speed of the harvester, You can visualize the areas that still contain products by the amount products in queues.
