Is it possible to run flexsim models on AWS? - With out Animation

Hello All.

Is it possible to run the Flexsim model without animation on Amazon web services(AWS) similar to running optimizations on AWS using Flexsim distributed systems?

I want Flexsim to run in the cloud and give back the results. In this way, simulation results can be deployed to wider audiences without having a license. Flexsim and AWS can charge the people based on the time the resources are used.

Thanks,

Praneeth.

Hi @asb.praneeth,

The FlexSim Webserver might be the solution you're looking for. A FlexSim Webserver is simply a regular installation of FlexSim alongside a server that can serve the 3D view and/or dashboards and other interface elements across a network or internet connection to any modern web browser. It can run as many concurrent models as the hardware allows. Opening and running models, on a remote PC, with no software install necessary on the client PCs, is pretty much what it is made for.

Explore the user manual entry (linked above) to see if the FlexSim Webserver would meet your needs.

Ben Wilson answered, how to use command line parameters to start FlexSim.

And there is an article to run experiments on AWS by Jordan Johnson.

Experiments haven’t got any animations by default.

  • You save the model without an opened 3D View window. If you load the model the last workspace of the saved file will be loaded.
  • You save the workspace without any 3D View as a configuration file and load the workspace by the command line parameters or with an OnOpen Model trigger.
