Financial Analysis AGV vs Conveyor.

Hey guys,

I have one small question if anyone has an idea it will help my situation. I am trying to make comparision between AGV and Conveyor about final output, time and other KPI. my one important factor is cost and power consumption also. About AGV I already figured out about fixed, variable cost and power consumption. About conveyors, I am really not getting any idea how much a typical conveyor cost and how much power they consume. I am talking about conveyor which will transport an item of approx 40 kg which is made up of iron.I am searching from few days most of website ask personal details to call and they expect that i am interesting to buy an conveyor which is not. Do you guys have any ideas? flexsim has some feature to know these data?

Hi @Gulati,

FlexSim is strictly a modeling software and only contains generic objects and resources to be applied to many unique situations. For that reason, we don't carry any specs (conveyor size, weight, cost, speed, etc.) because these are the variables provided by FlexSim users in order to accurately model their facilities.

I would recommend contacting one of the conveyor builders and asking for some of the specs. They might offer to sell you some, but you're not obligated to buy anything as you're only gathering information.

Once you've gathered enough information about the conveyors you are considering for your project, you can design a FlexSim simulation that will accurately represent the performance of those conveyors and gather accurate data about them.
