I want to model a screen as a processor

I want to model a screen as processor that separates different % percentage (by tonnage) of the feed material and sends the separated material to another processor?

I assume you have got a label at your items that got a mass value. if the first item got a value of 1000 kg and the next items got values of much lower values ( e.g. near 1 kg) and you want the tonnage of the exit ports to be even after a longer run time of your model, then the separator has to send the items of the lower value primarily to the other port.
The condition of an even distribution can be of a different ratio, too? Like 3:1.

Or do you have something else in your mind?

Hi, thanks for replying to my question. Let me explain a bit more, I want to model a rotary screen (trommel screen) that is used in solid waste management. The screen on this drum has one or two sizes and separates different waste streams (based on size) from the feed. I have this separation ratio from my research, I need to apply this separation ratio to the mass of waste being fed into this screen.

I used the "send to port" > random by percent, but this is just by time, I want to apply the ratio to mass item. My next step is to set upper and lower limit to the separation as the ratio is not fixed, it varies around a value.

I would use a dynamically adjusted discrete empirical distribution, that changes the percentage values depending on current ratio of the output material types.
An statistical discrete empirical distribution has got a global table of two columns. The first column got values in rows to sum up to 100%. Each row represents the probability of a discrete number in the second column. It is the return value of the function. You use this return value to decide which output port the item takes. On each exiting item you adjust the probabilities values of your first column to get to the desired ratio. You need to set labels at your separator to count the mass of your different material types. On these label values you decide how to adjust the probability values.
And you should decide in which time interval you want to match the given distribution or in other word when you reset your label values, because if you decide to distribute on a base of 1,000,000 ton already separated mass, it doesn’t matter anymore where you send a current separated item wether it has a value of 1 kg or 1000kg.
