Hi FlexSimmers,
It will be really helpful if we have demo models of FlexSim in various domains/verticals available for download in the download section of the FlexSim website. The primary reason for my post is it will be easy for the prospective clients/customers to evaluate or learn or understand more deeply how FlexSim can be used in various verticals with the help of demo models. We earlier had demo models available in the old community forum in which most of them were built on FlexSim version 6. As FlexSim development progressed and with some major changes in the FlexSim architecture, it has become cumbersome to upgrade the demo models which were built in version 6 to newer versions. We have some upgraded models available in the download section but a domain wise partition or categorization of the models will be really helpful.
The secondary reason for this post is that even if I have a model on a particular domain I may not be able to share it with a customer/prospective client due to the non-disclosure agreement. So a demo model on a particular domain will really help to showcase FlexSim capabilities and how a big real case study model will look. The old demo models on Flexsim 6 versions were perfect and had the necessary details which illustrate the FlexSim capabilities. But now FlexSim have new features, which I believe have to be illustrated through new demo models like the old version6 demo models (For example old models were showing displaying stats via GUI's now we have dashboards).
Some important verticals we would like to have will be Manufacturing, Warehousing, Supply chain, Business processing, Packaging, Automotive, Assembly etc.
Furthermore, I also want to request FlexSim to put the general demo models as a section in the FlexSim answers forum in addition to the downloads section and also to add demo models of different features or tutorial models of Flexsim in a release under the application/concepts and tasks section in the answers forum. So that the users can find them easier.
