I am using a pill bottle as a flow item in a model. Is there a way to hide the cap of the pill bottle and make it appear again once a specific task is executed?
You can use the Customize Shape window to hide, re-color, or re-texture the sub-meshes of a shape:
Attached is a sample model demonstrating using this feature along with frames to be able to dynamically change the shape at certain points during the model run.
The Pill Bottle flowitem has a Base Frame that is the regular pill bottle shape and a "No Cap" Frame 1 that is that same shape, but customized to hide the cap. Then you can switch between them with the Visual > Change Shape Frame pick option, as demonstrated on the Processor's triggers.
I was able to create a pill bottle without a cap. However when I am struggling with adding a trigger that switches between the pill bottle with the cap and the pill bottle without the cap. When I go to select the frame it only says "Base Frame" and not two separate pill bottles. What am I missing?
The first image just showed how to customize a flowitem's shape in general.
The attached model showed how to combine that feature with shape frames to dynamically change the shape during the model.
Add a frame to your object's shape:
Look at the attached model. That's why I attached it.
I looked at the model and I attempted to add a frame. When I do it gives me a box instead of a pill bottle. That is where I am stuck.
