FlexSim Webserver does not work properly

Hello everyone:

I encountered an unsolvable problem when using FlexSim Webserver, as shown in Figure 1. When I installed FlexSim Webserver, I was not prompted to install node.js. I copied the node.js file from another computer to the target folder, as shown in Figure 2; when I started FlexSim Webserver, the command window could not be opened, as shown in Figure 3. I have tried to install FlexSim Webserver on other computers and it works normally, but this problem occurs on my computer. Can anyone help me answer it? Thanks!

Node.js needs to be installed. It won't work to simply copy the installed files from one computer to another.

Also, I have found that installing the latest version of Node.js, and then installing FlexSim Webserver 21.0.0 does not work - later versions of Node.js have some incompatibilities with FlexSim Webserver.

Here are my suggestions:

  1. Delete the nodejs folder that you copied to this computer.
  2. Using Windows' Add/Remove programs list in the Settings app, remove all installations of FlexSim Web Server and Node JS.
  3. Reboot your computer.
  4. Right-click your WebServer_21.0.0.exe installer file and choose Run as Administrator.
  5. You should have a normal installation experience and be prompted to allow Node.js to install.

If for some reason Node.js is still not installed using the WebServer_21.0.0.exe, you can still manually download and install the older version of Node that is included. Here is a direct link to the version that ships with the FlexSim Webserver installer:

After Node.js is installed, install the FlexSim Webserver. After that the webserver should run normally.
