Connection to Allen Bradley L30ER PLC

Hi, guys

I have some questions about the connection between Allen Bradley PLC(L30ER) and FlexSim.

I have set up an output tag in PLC, named it "Gripper_Wrk" and assigned it to the output module, I also tested it with a proximity sensor by using ladder logic.

Currently, I am having a difficult time to understand how the Allen Bradley connection settings in FlexSim.

Anyone here has idea how to relate the "Offset" and "Element Count" to the PLC side?

In my FlexSim, I put 3 in the "Offset" because the "Gripper_Wrk" is assigned to Data.2, but I am not sure what should I do with the "Element Count".

After I run the model that I created, I have those error.

I am new to Allen Bradley PLC, thank you so much for your help.

@Cass Z, This looks nearly identical to the error message I was getting when I first started my Allen-Bradley Emulation project. I was told it was a bug on the FlexSim side, and I was given a temporary fix local to my laptop only. Luciano was very helpful. Perhaps he can help you as well.

@Luciano Cavallero, Hey Luciano! It looks like Cass is having the same issue that I was having with the Allen-Bradley connection. Was this issue ever fixed in a software update?

Thanks,

Jacob

HI @Jacob, Hi @Cass Z,

Yes, seem that the problem is the same.
The issue has not been officially added to an update.

@Cass Z could you write me at [email protected]?

Thanks,

Luciano Cavallero

Hi, @Jacob E2 with help from @Luciano Cavallero , I get the FlexSim connected to the AB PLC. Thank you for the help. During the same time, I do have an issue reading the data from the PLC (I am trying to create control variable in FlexSim), @Jacob E2 were you able to use the control variable in FlexSim? I currently can only write value to PLC.

Thank you!

@Jacob E2 Thank you for your help. During the same time, may I ask how did you set up those values? Whenever I try to browse the data, I always have this timeout error.

@Cass Z, Everything looks the same as mine, except I used a value of 1 for "Element Size" and a value of 1 for "Element".
