Linking Model to Real-Time Data

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to link real-time data to FlexSim and how that would look in a model and/or dashboard. I would like to use something like MES/Oracle Database/Excel if possible that pulls data from a manufacturing floor real-time, and can tell me through FlexSim which state a machine is in (running, down, etc.). Is it possible to link data like this into FlexSim so that it can show updates and potentially change token/processor colors if an actual machine changes its state? If so, how would this work?

There are many ways to implement this. For example you could use the emulation module to read tags via OPC-UA or another protocol. Or you could (with FlexSim running in realtime) read from the database on an interval and update all equipment states.. The best method will probably depend on your skills and familiarity with certain aspects and the infrastructure with which you are working.
