Adding another layout (.dwg) as a different floor

Hi there,

Is it possible to add another floor plan (.dwg file) as another floor in my model? I already have a base layout (another .dwg file) and I want to add another floor plan to simulate AGVs travelling to another floor to the exact location.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@Glenson G Actually there is a way to add an extra DWG file. If you drag in a Shape object (just above the Background object) you can select the DWG as the 3D shape. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Background object but you can show it

Hello @Glenson G

From looking at a model it looks like you cannot add more than one model background at a time in version 18.2. If you have finished using your base floor CAD DWG then you could delete that one and upload the next floor. To change the z location go into properties of the model background.

In the latest version of FlexSim you can have multiple files uploaded and create a multi floor model with all your DWG's in at once. This feature was added in the 19.1 release.
