Flexsim version issue windows 11

Hello,

I recently switched to using win11, and when I tried running version 20.0.0 on it doesn't seem to work. I use two Flexsim versions, one the latest and 20.0.0 for older models because it can become an issue when you open them in newer versions.

What happens when I try to start software - every time it opens a screen to choose between classical and healthcare version and then it just freezes and there is nothing you can do.

If anybody had similar issue or a possible solution, I would appreciate it.

Hi @Vladimir N,

There is nothing specific to Windows 11 that would cause the problems you're seeing. At FlexSim US we are all using Windows 11 without any problems.

The problem you describe sounds like the prefs.t file is not saving when you close FlexSim. This could be due to a permissions issue on your system. What kind of rights do you have on your computer? You may need to start FlexSim using right-click>Run as Administrator for the first run.

You could also try other suggestions found in our article covering installation or startup issues.

Hello Ben,

sorry for late reply, I was away for a few days. I have what you could say are partial admin rights. But you were right, I had to run it as administrator the first time, every next time just regular start up works.

Fun fact, when I did not run it as administrator first time after installation, even if I tried to run it afterwards as admin, it would not run - I had to reinstall it. Thanks for the info, hopefully it helps someone else as well.

Best regards, Vladimir
