Does GIS Navigator account for traffic lights and road conditions when choosing routes?
Does GIS Navigator account for traffic lights and road conditions when choosing routes?
The GIS navigator downloads routes generated with https://project-osrm.org which in turn uses data from https://www.openstreetmap.org.
As such, the fastest route will depend on the speed values that are available for the roads from that source. You can check their wikipedia entry for more information about how where the data comes from etc.
If you mean general presence of traffic lights and oervall condition, then my assumption would be "maybe, depends on where exactly the data comes from". If you mean 'current condition', as in traffic jams and weather related conditions, then (very likely) no.
That also wouldn't really make sense, since FlexSim as a software requires repeatability and it would be counterproductive if routing changed by the day or even hour.
