Connection Failed with Error: libmySQL.dll

Hello, my connection to a MySQL database was working on Flexsim version 23 Update 1. The same connection does not work on newer versions (Update 2 and 2024).

FlexSim 24.0.1

What have you tried to fix this? Can you access it from another application?

A quick search suggests that some people have solved it by installing the MS VC Redistributable download.

Hi @Jason Lightfoot , I can access the MySQL database from other applications and everything works fine with Flexsim version 2023 update 1. I believe it is a bug in new releases because I asked my colleague to test it on a different computer and the same happened. So, I don't believe that everyone who wants to use a MySQL DB (that was used in previous versions) now has to install something.

FlexSim does not have a license to redistribute that DLL and it is no longer included in its installer. If you want to use a MySQL database connector you need to download that DLL from Oracle.

Our user manual explains how to do this: Setting up a Database Connection. If you follow that link and scroll down to the DLL Dependencies section (a blue box), it tells you how to download the file and set it up.
