1 machnie 2 processes

Hello, I am quite new to flexsim. I need to create a line, where 1 CNC device is used 2 times, at 2 different stages of the process. How can I do it? It has to be one object, (not 2 CNCs) because I am required to show its usage. I looked up some tutorials, but I can’t really find anything on this matter. Thank you in advance

Hello,

This is how I would handle this situation by creating a tracked variable to track down the average availability of said CNC machine during these two processes. In order to find the average utilization as oppose to availability, you can just calculate the inverse. At the end of 5 units being processed and without inputting the amount of time it would take for these two processes, the average availability of your CNC machine ended up being 0.43 (43%) meaning this CNC machine was utilized for 0.57 (57%) of the period of simulation.

Thank you and hopefully this helps,

Hey, thank you for an answer. But I’m not sure if this is what I meant. I only now learned that I can add photos, so in attachment you can see the multiprocessor which I used, as a cnc, when I thought I can make it useful for both procedures. Than I learned that I can’t really do it with one, as far as I knew back then, so I put second one, to do the job. And now I am required to show utilization, so I am looking for a way to do it with one machine at the place of two, to do it properly. Is there a way to do so? And to make it work?

It is only partial photo, but I hope you can understand my not so good English.

Thank you in advance

If these two processes (the two multiprocessors) are the only ones utilizing the CNC machine, then I would think we can create a dashboard to find the state of them. Select State bar graph and reference these two multiprocessors and add the utilization to consider this result as the utilization of the CNC machine. 1733417448937.png

Thank you,
